Introducing Benito Torres Jr., the dedicated and accomplished owner of The Odyssey Program of Northern California. With a rich and diverse background, Benito brings a unique blend of military, firefighting, and law enforcement experience to his role.
Benito's journey began with an impressive 4 1/2-year tenure as a United States Marine, where he served with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he transitioned into the realm of firefighting, contributing his skills and expertise to safeguarding communities for a year.
However, it was in law enforcement that Benito found his true calling. Over the span of 28 years, he served with distinction, rising to the rank of Sergeant before retiring in 2021. His unwavering commitment to public safety and his community was further exemplified in his last 5 years in law enforcement, during which he served as the Cadet Training Officer at the Stockton Public Safety Academy.
At the academy, Benito played a pivotal role in shaping the future of aspiring public safety professionals. The Stockton Public Safety Academy was a renowned career pathway school of choice for students ranging from 5th to 12th grades. Under Benito's guidance, cadets received comprehensive training, instilling in them the values of discipline, integrity, and service.
Benito, during his tenure at the PSA, recognized the necessity for a more profound understanding and connection between the community and public safety. In response to this need, he initiated the Junior Cadet Program, specifically designed for elementary-age students in grades 1st through 4th. Benito managed and supervised this after-school program concurrently with his responsibilities at the PSA. The program provided students with the opportunity to cultivate positive character traits and behaviors from a young age, guiding them towards a path of success.
In 2019, Benito received recognition for his service and dedication, earning the title of Classified Employee of the Year not only for San Joaquin County but also for the entire state of California.
Now, as the Owner of The Odyssey Program of Northern California, Benito Torres continues his commitment to education and community development. Leveraging his extensive background, he aims to inspire and guide individuals towards a path of excellence and success. Benito's leadership is characterized by a passion for mentorship, a deep understanding of public service, and a genuine dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders.
In every role he undertakes, Benito Torres exemplifies the values of honor, duty, and service, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touches and the communities he serves.
